Name
Ciara Torrance Home School: St. Joan of Arc Why did you choose to do Global? I chose to apply to Global Perspectives to challenge myself academically and personally. I wanted to experience the travel aspect of the program, while also challenging myself to become a more confident, aware and intelligent person. How has Global changed you? It has challenged me by pushing me to express my creativity and knowledge through my assignments. Additionally, it has challenged me to become open with the people in the program and think outside of the box constantly. Finally, it has challenged me to understand harsh realities and different aspects of world issues. What is your favourite Global memory? My favourite Global memory is Canada night in Cuba. All of the Canadians put on a show for the Cubans while demonstrating the typical “Canadian” lifestyle. We also performed musical acts and skits, it was a lot of fun and the Cubans really enjoyed watching and participating in our game of hockey at the end of the night. What is your favourite Global quote? “Watch out for the shady cats” What would you tell future Global students? I would tell future Global students to enjoy the best 5 months of their life. I would tell them to fully indulge themselves into the different cultures and experiences that this program offers, and to never give up putting in the effort. Also, I would tell them to value the sleep that they have before the program begins- sleep is truly a beautiful thing. Best of luck to the Globalites of 2016!! |
