Why did you choose to do Global?
I chose to do Global because I wanted to challenge myself academically and socially. Global is structured differently than the average school day and I wanted the unique learning experience that Global is. The travelling aspect of Global also enticed me because I love to travel with my family. I thought travelling with school would be a unique and a once in a lifetime experience.
How has Global changed you?
I think participating in Global has allowed me to become a more confident and independent person. Before Global I would have never been able to be away from my family for such long periods of time. Global has also made me a much more self-aware person. I have learned to appreciate the lucky life I live to an even greater extent.
What is your favourite Global memory?
My favourite Global memory is bonding with the Cuban students while we were away. The down time at the beach or the pool where you really got to chat and get to know each other was really special.
What is your favourite Global quote?
“We take a lot of joy from our problems.”
What would you tell future Global students?
I would tell future Global students to stay on top of your work! Organization and time management are key and a planner is a big help! Also, work hard, it will all pay off in the end!
