Cuba
The Global Perspectives Class travelled to Veradero, Cuba from April 9-23. They were partnered with students from the University of Havana and were immediately immersed in Cuban culture. From music and dancing to lectures on Cuban history and the educational system, the Canadian students were fascinated with the difference among cultures. They enjoyed travelling to different Cuban cities and spending time with their new Cuban friends who could not have been more inviting. The two weeks spent in isolation from their families was a very important experience to help bond the Global Class into a Global Family.
Lectures
During our stay in Cuba we attended numerous lectures. We learned about Cuban History, Music and Dance, the Cuban Economy, and the Education system, among more. It was an interesting experience to learn about a communist country from its own people. Getting an inside perspective is something that made the trip incredible.
